INFORMATION
FAMOUS ORGANSOUND
An organ with a baroque disposition with pipe material by the romanticist Steenkuyl.
In 1974, the organ builder H.J. Vierdag in Enschede delivered the current organ. The very first organ was placed in Haren in 1866 by Van Oeckelen. The case of this organ served as an example for the contemporary instrument. This created an organ front in the Northern Netherlandish style, which has a late eighteenth-century appearance.
A large part of the pipework comes from the organ of the former Wilhelminakerk in Rotterdam, built in 1900 by D.G. Steenkuyl in Amsterdam. As a result, new pipes (matching in sound) were needed for only a few stops. However, the front pipes were replaced by new ones. For example, Vierdag built an organ with a baroque disposition with pipe material by the romanticist Steenkuyl. One could call the contemporary Veenendaal organ the Steenkuyl Vierdag organ.

The Steenkuyl organ of the former Wilhelminakerk in Rotterdam was a popular instrument. In particular, the well-known Dutch organist Feike Asma has performed numerous concerts and has made various LP recordings of this organ.
